ray gillen rocks - this album is ray gillan having fun and it shows it rock.But it kind of a rip off .Yes there are 3 disk in it but there basically the same record.They just remix the biggest part of the album,and they a crazy interview with gillan ,and a woman trying to sell a vacum cleaner.But for the money it worth it gillan rocks
Bargain-priced 3CD set - Sun Red Sun is probably most noteworthy for featuring the late, great Ray Gillen (ex Black Sabbath, Badlands) on vocals, but the band also featured a revolving door of musicians, including members of Ozzy, Rainbow, Savatage, Alice in Chains, Yngwie and more. Sun Red Sun had a sound that was unapologetically hard rock/metal at a time when metal was a dirty word. You won t find any grungy alterna-rock here, but you won t see the excesses and self-parody that plagued so many early 90 s metal bands either.If you haven t already checked out the band s material, Crook d Records 3-disc Sun Set is the perfect way to do so. This set includes the self-titled 1995 debut album, the follow-up album Lost Tracks (with John West on vocals) and the Ray Gillen 5th Anniversary Memorial Tribute album (essentially a collection of Sun Red Sun demos), and can often be found for far less than the cost of a single CD.Sun Red Sun should have appealed to a large group of hard rock and metal fans, but unfortunately the band went largely unnoticed. At such a low price though, those of us who may have overlooked them originally now have a chance to correct that oversight.
